I am a Notary as well as a Justice of the Peace.
The Notary Public designation is separate from the Justice of the Peace designation. Some documents will accept a J of P signature, but most documents that look for signature acknowledgements require a Notary.
Perhaps the most intimate and touching of all ceremonies I have been asked to provide was the Memorial Service for one of my grooms. I had to swallow a couple of times to think that this lovely couple I had married 22 years previously remembered me in such a way. This ceremony provided an outlet for both grieving and celebrating this wonderful man’s life. A memorial ceremony gives an opportunity to grieve and remember.
If I am asked to preside over such a touching gathering again, I will meet with the family, listen to their stories and work with them to create a unique, personalized ceremony.
Not quite baby naming, but rather welcoming a new baby into the family. This celebration included the promises the parents made to their new daughter.
I had been honored to marry this young couple several years earlier. And they chose to bring me into their lives yet again! What a privilege!
